The Royal Navy needed a way to recover Remus UUVs from the water without damaging them. Working alongside the MTXG X-Ray Squadron in Portsmouth, the R&D team at CQC developed a cradle to recover the UUV, using the high-quality UK manufactured webbings and carbon fibre already used in the Fibrelight MOB cradles. This ensured that the UUV cradle was extremely strong but yet very light and easy to stow.
Once the prototype was complete it was trialled using an H-Frame and crane attachment and worked perfectly.
Matt Adams, CQC Fibrelight Business Development Manager said ‘It is always a pleasure to work with the Royal Navy. Our Fibrelight products are in use with many navies globally and we are very proud to be able to provide the R&D capacity to help them overcome issues as modern unmanned warfare evolves.’
