The Air Assault Field Pack has been designed for Special Forces, Pathfinder, and Airborne troops. It is hard-wearing, made from 1000 denier high tenacity PU-coated nylon fabric which has inherent waterproof and FR capabilities.
The pack is short and wide, with a fixed harness; it has been designed to be worn without a hip belt. The pack has a floating lid to utilise the shroud, giving a massive internal volume of 75 litres. This is a no-frills pack: as such there are no internal or hidden pockets or pouches. The lid has a large external pocket and a good-sized internal pocket.
There are four fixed external pockets: three are each large enough for a pair of mess tins or a water bottle, and a fourth pocket which is almost the width of the pack. This fourth pocket is large enough for a pair of waterproofs or equivalent. There are large mesh pockets on the side of the pack, over which 10 litre side pouches can be zipped.
