The Bison is one of CQC’s largest rucksacks and was originally designed for a NATO army operating in temperate conditions. It is hard-wearing, made from 1000 denier high tenacity PU-coated nylon fabric which has inherent waterproof and FR capabilities.
The Bison features a fixed lid with one large external and one internal pocket, 3 large, zippered mesh internal pockets, and two open pockets for hydration pouches or equivalent. A sleeping bag can be stored in the bottom portion of the rucksack (internal height approx. 25cm) which can be accessed via a clamshell opening at the front of the pack; to keep everything else secure there is an internal “floor” above this compartment which can be secured with poppers, creating a solid base for the top part of the pack.
Externally the Bison has massive, 15 litre zippered side-pouches, and 6 rows of MOLLE on the front; there are compression sacks on the sides and various loops to attach other items.
The Bison has a modular harness, removable padded waistbelt, removable chest strap, and a reinforced base.
