The Sentinel was designed for extended infantry patrols. It has a large internal volume of 72 litres, with 4 litres in the lid and optional 10 litre side pouches. Internally there are two side pockets extending the length of the rucksack, each of which has a loop for securing a hydration unit. The main compartment can be accessed via both the top and a clamshell opening on the front; there is a zippered pocket on the internal side of this clamshell opening. There are straps on the underside of the floating lid to secure a helmet; there is a 5-litre pocket on the top of the lid, which also has 3 ports for hydration tubes or a radio antenna. There are a further 5 ports at the top of the rucksack itself.
Externally the Sentinel has the option to attach 5 or 10-litre side pouches via MOLLE, a Velcro-secured pocket in the base, and 8 rows of MOLLE on the side and 6 on the front. There are compression straps on the sides.
The Sentinel has a modular padded harness, removable waist belt, chest strap, and a reinforced base. The harness has a small, zippered cable routing pouch on one side. The Sentinel is hard-wearing, and like many of CQC’s rucksacks and daysacks is made from 1000 denier high tenacity PU-coated nylon fabric which has inherent waterproof and FR capabilities.
